Enough is enough
It’s blatantly obvious that each individual in this world is different. It would not be possible to find two people that look exactly the same, portray the same personality, or obtain the exact same ethics; this is part of what makes the world interesting. If individuals were all the same, then of course, the world would be much different. Even though individuals are so completely different, aren’t we all kind of the same?  Even though each individual develops their own personality, we all eventually adapt to our surroundings by what is taught to us as a child or in school. Whether an individual is at work, school, or social events, they should uphold obvious common sense, motivation, along with a certain level of maturity.  My point is… I know I’m not a perfect person, I definitely don’t claim to be. I do know right from wrong, and I also know what is appropriate or not. I am so tired of working with employees who are lazy and not sufficient. I have been working since I was fourteen years old. I worked, attended school, and was enrolled onto a year round swim team. Maybe I know more about proper work ethics and responsibility then the average person. I have always been a very hard worker. Discipline has been something that has been engraved in my mind ever since I was a young girl. Ever since my parents divorced, my mother taught me to be motivated and independent. She constantly reminded me, “Erin, you’re a dedicated little girl and I know you can accomplish anything you desire”. Swimming on the swim team taught me how to be responsible and develop discipline. It taught me to form and achieve goals which I never thought I would be able to obtain, but I did. Although at the time I didn’t like working at such a young age, ultimately it aided me in developing good work ethics and more responsibility as well. So again, maybe since I developed these qualities at a young age, I expect too much from people. I feel like at this point in my life between work, school, studying and pet sitting, enough is enough! I should be able to go to work to get away from these things, but some days work is just as stressful. I’m one of those people that will let something bother me for a while before I chose to finally do something about it. Unfortunately this is something that I have been trying to work on for a while. It’s never a good idea to hold issues inside and then eventually blow up.  Although I may tend to ball things up inside, I am probably what you would consider passive aggressive as well. I have noticed lately that the aggressiveness is deciding to show and the passiveness not so much. Is it too much to ask for people to clean up after themselves or obtain somewhat of a desire to be at work? I am over employees at work who are there only to obtain a paycheck. They have no desire in wanting to be there and all they do is complain. The laziness and lack of responsibility is very frustrating for me. I’m the type of person that will just fix the situation instead of relying on someone else to do it half right. Ultimately I don’t understand why people don’t have the same amount of work ethics that I do. All I expect of a coworker is to do their job correctly. I am so tired of picking up other peoples slack and getting no appreciation in return. Sometimes I wish I could take a step back and just not do it. Let others deal with the issues and learn to walk away.  Unfortunately my unique personality makes it very difficult. I want to do a great job and I want to do my best. This usually means that it’s more work for me. I already have certain additional responsibilities, and now I also have to pick up other peoples slack as well. So again, it was one of those days and I balled it up inside, again. So here it is a blog for my English class.
